Second week of June and one of the biggest collaboratives drops of the summer season appears, the Adidas x Palace Summer 2017 Collection. Actually this drop is not mainly about Sneakers but it is the biggest thing happening in our culture this week. Also important are the releases of two Air Max 1 “Jewel” and the Air Jordan IV “Motorsport Away”.

After the release of a few Air Force One colorways with the so called Jewell Swoosh and two Cortez shoes that dropped on celebration of the 45 year anniversary of the “Forrest Gump” Sneaker, Nike is launching two new Air Max “Jewel” in the same tones than both Cortez: white/red and white/black. This shoe was originally made around 1996 and seen again in 2002, so Nike is bringing it back after more than 20 years, similar move as they did with the Uptempos for example.

The shoe features a very clean looking and soft leather, an icy and translucent sole with a large visible Nike Swoosh and Nike branding on the back and inner. Check the Unboxing of The Sole Supplier to see an on foot review here.

In my opinion this shoe will be one of the top shoes of the summer and it is definitely a must have for every Air Max fanatic. Available on June 15th at the following sites among others:

Thegoodwillout: Black Diamond and Red Ruby (Thursday the 15th at 9.00 am)

Nike.com: Black Diamond and Red Ruby  (Thursday the 15th at 9.00 am)

Afew Store: Black Diamond and Red Ruby (Thursday the 15th at 9.00 am)

Overkill: Black Diamond and Red Ruby (Thursday the 15th at 9.00 am)

ADIDAS PALACE SUMMER 2017 (FRIDAY, JUNE 16TH)

And here we are, the second Adidas x Palace drop of the year is here. The german and british brands collaborate again as they have been doing since 2015. The collection includes a Tee Shirt in two colorways (White/Black and Grey/Lucky Orange), a Running Cap (also in both colorways), a Hooded Jacket, a Crewneck, some Track Pants and Shorts, a Bathrobe and two new colorways of the Adidas x Palace Indoor Trainer.

This new Palace drop is probably going to catch a lot of attention in my opinion, even more than the previous ones (also because Palace just opened their new Flagship store in New York City), the tones used in every piece are very summer friendly and flashy, also matching really good with each other.

In the collection they are two items that stand up as must have: the Crewneck with the Tri-Ferg Palace logo and the Bathrobe, which is being hyped the most. The sneakers dropping are more in the background of it all, but this does not mean that Palace is not being true to its roots, making pretty comfortable shoes with a little amount of boost perfect for skating, which is what is all about for them.

The collection is going to be available at Palace Skateboards on Friday at 11.00 am (London time, 12.00 am for Europe), Adidas.com  (probably 10 am) and retailers such as End Clothing. See also the prices in £, as posted by the YEEZY Mafia, below:

NIKE AIR JORDAN IV RETRO “MOTORSPORT AWAY” (SATURDAY, JUNE 17TH, 190 €)

Air Jordan IV

If we have to choose a Jordan shoe that has define 2017 so far it would be no doubt the IV. After seen the releases of the Jordan IV x Kaws, the “Pure Money” and the “Motorsport” is hard to argue against it. This Saturday Jordan brand deliveres an alternate version of the original “Motorsport”, in the same way that we have seen not to long ago alternate versions of the Air Jordan 8.

The shoe has a black tumbled leather upper that contrasts with the white color of the “Motorsport” version. Also the blue detailing of the original pair is substituted by a new grey tone. It reminds of the OG Black and Red colorway of the IV but in Black and Blue, making it a type of Royal IV, I guess.

Also important to mention, because some people would not know, is why this pair is called Motorsport (Motorsport Away): the GOAT Michael Jordan not only played basketball and baseball, he also played golf and he also has a Motorsport team under is name, and then the Jordan brand started at some point generally producing the shoes that members of the Jordan Motorsport were wearing as PEs.

As I mentioned before Jordan is continuing they run with the Air Jordan IV also over the summer, although it is not a straight summer type of color. Has seen in previous Jordan drops this year, the shoe is probably going to sit for a long time, as the “Pure Money” and the “Motorsport” which are still available at almost every local store. I just hope that the relationship between the Jordan IV and 2017 continues after the summer, and that we could maybe see some red “Toros” dropping, just hoping.

Available at Nike.com, Thegoodwillout, Asphaltgold and 43einhalb (Saturday the 17th at 9.00 am)
